The Montverde Academy girls' volleyball team lost by the narrowest of margins on Wednesday evening as the Eagles lost 3-2 (25-22, 15-25, 19-25, 25-18, 14-16) to Orangewood Christian.

Isabella Johnson led the way for MVA with a career-high 21 kills to go along with five digs. Thalita Marangon added 13 kills and four digs in the close match. Ana Julia Peixoto added nine kills, while Luiza Manata had 31 digs and a pair of service aces.

The Eagles close out their 2022 regular season with a match at Lake Minneola High School at 7:00 pm.

Earlier in the evening, the junior varsity gold team lost 2-0 (31-33, 25-27) to Orangewood Christian. The JV Gold team wraps ups its 2022 slate with a match at Lake Minneola High School at 5:30 pm.
