Montverde, Fla.— The Montverde Academy softball team earned a 6-0 win over Winter Park High School on Tuesday evening as the Eagles up their winning streak to seven to start the season.
The Eagles scored three runs in the bottom of the first to take command. They scored two more in the fourth inning, before scoring another one in the sixth, en route to the win. MVA pounded out 11 hits in the win.
Paris Ford led the way, going 3-for-3, while Danika Spinogatti went 2-for-3 win a run and a run batted in. Makayla Navarro went 2-for-3 and scored twice. Nevaeh Williams went 1-for-3 with a run batted in at the plate. Meanwhile, she was dominant in the circle. Making her first start of the season, she pitched seven shutout innings, allowed just two hits and struck out nine.
MVA returns to action on Friday March 11 for a pair of home games. The Eagles will face Lake Highland Prep at 4:00 pm, before facing Berkeley Prep at 6:30 pm.
