The Montverde Academy baseball team defeated Bayonne High School 8-1 at Northeast Regional Park in Davenport on Saturday.
The win was the fifth in a row for the Eagles who are now 16-7 this spring.
MVA scored four runs in the second and another four in the fifth inning. Bayonne's lone run came in the top of the seventh, and it marked the first run the Eagles have allowed the entire month of April. MVA has now outscored its opponents 54-1 in the past five games.
In Saturday's win, the Eagles were led by AJ Goytia who was 2-for-3 with a run and three runs batted in. Jorge Bello and Salvador Alvarez also had two hits in the win.
Christian Borbely earned the win after going 6.0 innings and allowing no runs on two hits, while striking out seven.
