The Montverde Academy closed out their 2022 home schedule with a win on Thursday evening as the Eagles defeated Celebration High School 15-0 in four innings at Francisco Lindor Field.

The win was the seventeenth for the Eagles this spring as MVA improved to 17-8 on the season.

MVA scored six runs in the first inning and eight in the second to lead 14-0 after two innings. The Eagles got the one extra run they needed in the bottom of the fourth to win via the 15-run mercy rule.

Jorge Bello went 3-for-4 in the win with a double, a home run and six runs batted in. He also scored three times. Anthony Cole went 1-for-1 with a home run and three runs batted in. Brian Ehrlich and Yulian Batista also added two hits each for Montverde Academy.

Batista pitched four shutout innings, allowing just one hit, while striking out six.
