Baseball Defeats Ridge Community School on Monday Evening

The Montverde Academy baseball team defeated Ridge Community High School, 5-0 in Celebration on Monday evening.

The game was scoreless into the sixth inning when the Eagles got two across to take a 2-0 lead. Then, MVA added three more runs in the seventh to pull ahead by five.

Yulian Batista meanwhile pitched a gem. He pitched 6.0 shutout innings and scattered just two hits, while striking out nine.

At the plate, AJ Goytia went 2-for-2 with a run, while Salvador Alvarez went 2-for-4 with a run batted in. Anthony Cole also had a pair of hits and drove in two runs. Justin Orridge went 1-for-2 and had two runs batted in.
