The Montverde Academy girls' volleyball team upped its current winning streak to five after its fifth straight sweep on Thursday evening as the Eagles defeated Windermere Prep 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-23) in the Nest.
The Eagles were led by Ana Julia Peixoto who had 10 kills and a .474 attack percentage. Meanwhile, Bailey Hollis had seven kills (no errors) on nine attempts for a .778 attack percentage to go along with 16 assists. Thalita Marangon added eight kills and seven digs, while Evangeline DeClercq led with three service aces and five total blocks.
The win was the first victory in Citrus League play for the Eagles who are now 1-2 in league play.
The Eagles return to action on Tuesday, September 27 for a match at Bishop Moore at 6:00 pm
JV Gold Update: The junior varsity gold team defeated Windermere Prep 2-0 (25-7, 25-14) earlier in the evening. The Eagles were led by Koryn Scott with nine kills and two service aces, while Luiza Aranda had seven kills and three digs.
