Elsa Stedman and Antonella Mazziotto had a goal each to lift the Montverde Academy girls' soccer team to a 2-0 win over The Bolles School in the state semifinals of the 2023 Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) class 3A championship.

With the win, the Eagles have advanced into the state championship games where they will play NSU University on Wednesday February 22 at 4:00 pm at Spec Martin Stadium in DeLand, Florida.

After a scoreless game through the first thirty minutes, Stedman got the Eagles on the board after heading in a well placed corner kick by Lola Ressler. In the second half with just under ten minutes remaining, Mazziotto gave the Eagles an insurance goal when she blasted a shot from about thirty yards out over the reach of the Bolles goalkeeper to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead.

MVA will be playing for the state championship for the first time since their state championship season in 2019, the last time the girls' soccer team was a part of the FHSAA state series.
