The Montverde Academy girls' soccer team opened its quarterfinal round of the regional tournament with a quick win as the top seeded Eagles defeated Bell Creek Academy 8-0 in the opening round of the 2024 Florida High School Athletic Association Regional tournament on Tuesday evening in Montverde.

MVA scored its eight goals in the first half to end the game after just forty minutes of play.

Antonella Mazziotto and Lola Rey scored two goals each in the win, while Lola Ressler, Joy Palacios and Vienna Morgan had one each. The Eagles also scored via an own goal during the contest.

As a result of the win, MVA will now play in the semifinal round of the regional against Lake Highland Prep on Friday in Montverde at 7:00 pm.

Should MVA win on Friday, the Eagles will play for the regional championship and host on Wednesday, February 14 at 7:00 pm against the winner between Bishop Verot and Berkeley Prep.
