The Montverde Academy beach volleyball team won the FHSAA 2024 Class 1A District 10 championship on Tuesday afternoon. The Eagles beat Windermere Prep 3-2 in the championship match at the MVA Beach Volleyball Complex on Tuesday afternoon.
MVA lost the first two pairs and found itself down 0-2, needing to win all three of the remaining pairs to win, and the Eagles did it.
The win improves MVA to 16-2 overall and FHSAA District Champions for the second time in the past three years.
The district championship also is the 4th district championship won by an MVA team in 2023-24 and the 20th overall for MVA athletics.
The girls beach volleyball now advances into the FHSAAÂ regional championship tournament starting on Monday, April 29 against a team to be determined after the FHSAA releases the regional bracket.
