In a thrilling display of volleyball prowess, Montverde Academy emerged victorious over Mount Dora High School with a 3-1 win (25-20, 25-19, 19-25, 25-16) in an action-packed match on Tuesday evening at The Nest.
The duo of Evy DeClercq and Natalia Baquerizo had 11 kills each to lead the way.
Meanwhile, the game saw impressive contributions from across the board for Montverde Academy. Amelie Jenkins added seven kills and four service aces, while Isabella Parra orchestrated the offense with 30 assists and three service aces. Kristina Vargas was equally instrumental, delivering 21 assists and four service aces, adding a crucial dimension to Montverde's offensive strategy. On the defensive end, Vero Ruiz was a standout with 16 digs.
The Eagles are now on a two-game winning streak and are now 3-2 overall on the season.
Montverde Academy is back in action on Thursday for another home game as the Eagles host East Ridge High School at 6:00 pm (junior varsity game will be first at 5:00 pm).
