Montverde Academy girls basketball team dominated on its home court against Lincoln Park Academy in big victory.
The Eagles secured an emphatic 78-24 win at The Nest
From the opening tip-off, Montverde Academy imposed its will, using height and strength to dominate the boards and score easy baskets.
By the time Lincoln Park Academy finally scored their first three points, nearly six minutes into the game, the Eagles had already built a commanding 19-3 lead.
The first quarter ended with a lopsided 28-5 MVA advantage, and the Eagles continued to widen the gap, leading 45-12 by halftime.
The second half saw more of the same as MVA's defense stifled any offensive rhythm from Lincoln Park, while their offense flowed effortlessly.
By the end of the third quarter, MVA led 59-18 and closed out the game with a staggering 78-24 victory.
Saniyah Hall led the charge with 18 points and six steals, highlighting the team's balanced effort. Teammate Lourdes Da Silva Costa had 16 points and eight rebounds, while Aliyah Crump added 14 points and six assists.
"Everyone contributed… going forward, we are not letting up, and whoever is next, we are going to continue to strive for the win," said Hall.
The Eagles are now 13-1 overall this season and are back in action on Friday for a game at The Nest against Bradley Central at 4:00 pm.
