In a highly anticipated game on Friday night of the Girls Soccer Showcase, the Montverde Academy girls soccer team showed its dominance against fellow state champion Ponte Vedra in a 4-1 win on campus.
MVA came out attacking in the first half scoring three goals by halftime.Â
Luisa Tannus scored the first goal of the game in the fourteenth minute, before Joy Palacios scored on a direct kick in the twentieth minute to make the score 2-0.
Vienna Morgan had an outstanding game, assisting on the latter two MVA goals. The first one was during the twenty fifth minute when Lola Rey scored making the tally 3-0 by halftime.
In the second half, Ponte Vedra got on the board in the fifty-first minute to make the score 3-1.
The last goal of the night was scored in the sixty-third minute when Alessandra Jimenez took a crossing pass from Morgan to ensure the Eagles' victory.
This win keeps the Eagles' hopes of an undefeated season alive. MVA is now 15-0-0 on the season and wrap-up their 2024-25 regular season on day two of the GSS with a game against Creekside on Saturday at 12:00 pm.
