The No. 2 seed Montverde Academy girls volleyball team saw its impressive season come to a close on Tuesday evening, falling 3-0 (20-25, 24-26, 10-25) at top-seeded Lake Highland Prep in the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Regional Championship.
The Eagles battled hard through the first two sets, pushing the Highlanders to the brink in the second frame before ultimately coming up short against the defending state champions.
Offensively, Natalia Baquerizo, Bianca Baquerizo, and Gabi Carvalho each tallied six kills to lead the Eagles attack. Natalia Baquerizo also added 12 digs to anchor the defense, while Carvalho contributed one block at the net.
