Montverde Academy girls soccer capped off a perfect three-day run at the Mississippi Showcase with a 1-0 victory over Clinton High School on Saturday. The Eagles finished the trip undefeated, winning all three matches in as many days, and improving their season record to 7-0-1. Through eight matches, MVA has outscored its opponents by a dominant 30–2 margin.
The lone goal of the match came from Lola Rey, who continued her strong start to the season with her team leading eighth goal, and her fourth of the showcase. She was set up by Brianna Burkhalter and Dominika Misuthova, who combined on the assists.
In goal, Alyssa Strausbaugh recorded one save to secure her sixth clean sheet of the season, anchoring another impressive defensive performance by the Eagles.
Montverde Academy returns to action on Tuesday, December 2 at Auburndale High School starting with the junior varsity game at 5:00 pm, followed by the varsity match at 6:30 pm.
