The Montverde Academy girls soccer team picked up its first win of the season Thursday evening, defeating Bishop Moore 2-1 on the road in Orlando.

Vienna Morgan led the way for the Eagles with a goal and an assist, while Lola Rey added a goal to help secure the victory. Goalkeeper Alyssa Strasbaugh recorded two saves in the win.

With the result, Montverde Academy improves to 1-0-1 on the season.

Earlier in the day, the junior varsity team battled to a 4-4 draw against Bishop Moore. Their record is now 0-0-2 on the season.

Both teams are back in action Friday at Innovation High School. The JV game kicks off at 6:00 p.m., followed by the varsity matchup at 7:30 p.m.
