The Montverde Academy boys weightlifting team battled Wednesday evening but fell to Trinity Prep in both formats. Trinity Prep won the Olympic competition, 56–33, and the Traditional competition, 53–36.
In Olympic scoring — which combines each lifter's highest snatch and highest clean & jerk — Montverde Academy had several standout individual performances, including multiple first-place finishes in their respective weight classes.
First-Place Finishers
169-Pound Class – Jacob Moore
Moore captured first place in both Olympic and Traditional scoring. He totaled 275 pounds in Olympic (115 snatch, 160 clean & jerk) and an impressive 365 pounds in Traditional (205 bench, 160 clean & jerk), leading all lifters in the division.
199-Pound Class – Titus Declercq
Declercq also swept both formats in his weight class. He posted a 375-pound Olympic total (160 snatch, 215 clean & jerk) and a 400-pound Traditional total (185 bench, 215 clean & jerk) to finish atop the standings.
219-Pound Class – Rimon Du
Du delivered one of the strongest performances of the meet. He won both Olympic and Traditional in the 219-pound division with a 410-pound Olympic total (175 snatch, 235 clean & jerk) and a 470-pound Traditional total (235 bench, 235 clean & jerk).
238-Pound Class – Miguel Fernandez Hernandez (Traditional)
Fernandez Hernandez earned first place in Traditional scoring in the 238-pound class with a 230-pound total (130 bench, 100 clean & jerk).

Despite the individual victories and strong totals across multiple divisions, Trinity Prep secured enough team points to win both the Olympic and Traditional competitions.
MVA returns to the weightroom on Wednesday, February 25 for a home meet against Faith Chrsitian at 3:00 pm.
