The Montverde Academy boys weightlifting team turned in a strong performance Wednesday afternoon, defeating Faith Christian in a dual meet with victories in both disciplines. Montverde won the Traditional competition 46–32 and the Olympic competition 45–39 behind several first-place finishes across the lineup.

Weight Class Winners

Montverde lifters captured multiple weight-class victories to lead the Eagles to the team win:

• 119 lbs: Jacob Martinez – 240 Traditional, 210 Olympic

• 139 lbs: Ethan Seetahal – 325 Traditional, 290 Olympic

• 169 lbs: Jacob Moore – 370 Traditional, 295 Olympic

• 183 lbs (Olympic): Quentin Gunasekera – 330 Olympic

• 199 lbs: Titus Declercq – 400 Traditional, 385 Olympic

• 219 lbs: Jianlei Du – 480 Traditional, 425 Olympic

• 238 lbs: Zexu Li – 320 Traditional, 320 Olympic

Montverde also received strong supporting performances throughout the lineup. Tyler Waters (119), Oli Sari (129), Tristan Milliken (139), Elliott Gunasekera (154), Braden Ray (169), Grant McKee (183), and Miguelangel Fernandez Hernandez (219) all contributed valuable points in the victory.

The Eagles' depth proved to be the difference, as Montverde scored consistently across nearly every weight class to secure wins in both Traditional and Olympic lifting.

Montverde Academy returns to action Wednesday, March 4, when the Eagles host Windermere Prep. The meet is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
