The Montverde Academy boys weightlifting team delivered a dominant performance on Wednesday, sweeping Lake Highland Prep in both Olympic and Traditional lifting formats. The Eagles earned a 53–11 victory in Olympic lifting (snatch and clean & jerk) and got a 45–35 win in the Traditional division (bench press and clean & jerk).
Several Eagles turned in standout performances. In the lighter divisions, Jacob Martinez and Tyler Waters controlled the 119-pound class, combining for key points in Olympic lifting behind consistent snatch and clean & jerk totals. Oliver Sari added another strong showing at 129 pounds, posting an Olympic total of 195 and a Traditional total of 225.
At 139 pounds, Ethan Seetahal led the way with one of the meet's top performances, recording a 300-pound Olympic total and a perfect series of successful attempts. Tristan Milliken also contributed valuable points in the same class, while Lukas Walker impressed at 154 pounds with a 255 Olympic total and 275 Traditional total.
The middle and upper weight classes proved decisive for Montverde Academy. Jacob Moore and Braden Ray combined for points at 169 pounds, while Quentin Gunasekera and Grant McKee dominated the 183-pound division. McKee was particularly strong, finishing with a 345 Olympic total and a 395 Traditional total.
Titus Declercq continued the Eagles' momentum at 199 pounds, lifting a combined 370 in Olympic and 390 in Traditional. At 219 pounds, Jianlei Du delivered one of the day's most impressive performances, posting a 390 Olympic total and a 460 Traditional total to secure maximum team points.
Montverde Academy also got great contributions in the heavier divisions, with good lifts from Miguel Fernandez Hernandez and others helping seal the team sweep.
The Eagles will look to build on Wednesday's success when they return to action next Wednesday against Faith Christian and The First Academy in a tri-meet.
