As part of National Athletic Training Month, Montverde Academy Department of Athletics continues to recognize the dedicated professionals who play a vital role in supporting the health and success of our student-athletes.
Today we highlight Andrew McIntosh, who has served as Athletic Trainer at Montverde Academy since July 2022.
A native of Winter Haven, Florida, McIntosh earned his bachelor's degree in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Central Florida in 2020 before completing his Master's in Athletic Training in 2022. During his time at UCF, he was recognized as a member of the Iota Tau Alpha Athletic Training Honor Society.
McIntosh's journey with Montverde Academy originally began as an intern at MVA in the fall of 2021 before returning as a full-time athletic trainer. Since then, he has become an important part of the athletic training staff, providing care, guidance, and support to student-athletes across multiple programs.
He is a former former high school student-athlete himself having played on his high school boys soccer and football teams. McIntosh brings a strong understanding of the student-athlete experience to his role. He credits much of his success to the influence of his high school soccer coach, as well as relative, Tony Retrosi, a former Switzerland women's gymnastics head coach.
Outside of athletics, McIntosh enjoys spending time in the outdoors, with hobbies that include hiking, camping, fishing, and boating.
Montverde Academy is grateful for Andrew's dedication and the positive impact he continues to make within the athletics community. So we salute Andrew McIntosh and say, Happy National Athletic Training Month!
