Montverde, Fla. (June 22, 2026) – Recent Montverde Academy graduate Missy Odom '26 has been named the MaxPreps Florida Female Athlete of the Year, recognizing her remarkable achievements as a two-sport standout in both basketball and softball during the 2025-26 school year.
During the basketball season, Odom emerged as one of the top players in Florida, averaging 21.3 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. She helped guide Montverde Academy to an 18-4 record against one of the nation's toughest schedules, consistently delivering standout performances against elite competition.
When the calendar turned to softball season, Odom continued to shine. She led the Eagles with a .484 batting average, had 31 hits, a .554 on-base percentage, and a 1.320 OPS. She also tied for the team lead with six doubles and finished second on the team with four home runs and a .766 slugging percentage.
In addition to her offensive production, Odom dominated in the pitching circle too. She posted an 8-1 record with a team-best 0.46 earned run average, striking out 109 batters over 61 innings pitched.
Her impact helped MVA softball finish with a 19-6 overall record.
Odom's selection as MaxPreps Florida Female Athlete of the Year is the latest honor in a decorated high school career that showcased her versatility, leadership, and ability to perform at the highest level in multiple sports.
She will continue her athletic and academic career at Florida State University, where she will compete for the Seminoles women's basketball and softball programs.
For MVA, Odom leaves behind a legacy as one of the most accomplished multi-sport athletes in school history.
