The Montverde Academy boys golf team battled back to earn a 153-153 tie against Lake Highland Preparatory School in its 2026 season opener Tuesday afternoon at Rio Pinar Golf Club.

Sophomore Xuanhe Fan led the Eagles with a team-low round of 37 (+1). Terrence McAuley followed with a 38 (+2), while Wango Koo and Ethan Press each carded a 39 (+3) to complete MVA's four counting scores.

Sophomore Ryo Arakawa rounded out the Eagles' lineup with a 40.

Playing on a long and challenging course, the Eagles overcame an early deficit to pull even with the Highlanders.
