Victor Valencia serves as the Head Baseball Coach at Montverde Academy, where he has established the Eagles as one of the premier high school baseball programs in the nation. With a 14-year professional playing career and extensive experience in player development, Coach Valencia’s expertise, leadership, and passion for the game have played a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of student-athletes, preparing them for success at the collegiate and professional levels.
Before transitioning into coaching, Coach Valencia spent over a decade playing professional baseball, competing within multiple Major League Baseball organizations, including the New York Yankees, Cincinnati Reds, Texas Rangers, Cleveland Indians, and Toronto Blue Jays. His time as a professional catcher and hitter gave him firsthand knowledge of what it takes to perform at the highest levels, providing him with the foundation for his future career in coaching.
In 2008, Coach Valencia transitioned into coaching and player development, beginning his tenure as a special assistant in the New York Yankees’ minor league system. Over the years, he refined his expertise in hitting, catching, and defensive strategy, eventually earning a role as a hitting and catchers coordinator at both the minor and major league levels. His ability to assess and enhance player performance, combined with his deep understanding of the game, has made him a highly sought-after mentor in the baseball community.
Since taking over as Montverde Academy’s Head Baseball Coach, Coach Valencia has built a program that competes among the best in the country. His leadership has guided the Eagles to national prominence, including a No. 10 ranking in Prep Baseball Report’s 2023 Power25 Countdown. Under his direction, the team has consistently developed top-tier talent, with multiple players earning college scholarships and professional opportunities.
