Matt Cohen is in his third season as a coach in Montverde Academy’s Center for Basketball Development (CBD).
Prior to his appointment with the Eagles, Cohen spent two years at the National Basketball Association (NBA) league office in Secaucus, New Jersey where he worked with basketball operations and statistics. Cohen was tasked with monitoring the league's games in real time to ensure statistical accuracy. In his role, he also worked league events, including the NBA's combine, draft and summer league.
A native of Montville, New Jersey, Cohen is a 2018 graduate of Rutgers University where he earned his bachelor's degree in Sport Management. He also assisted in the athletics department, predominantly working with the men's basketball program.
Cohen also has spent time traveling the College landscape learning from coaches at high level NCAA programs, specifically the University of Kentucky. He spent several months in Lexington and credits coaches Joel Justus and Kenny Payne for being great mentors and allowing him to learn more of the coaching and player development side.
Additionally, Cohen coaches in the summer, and his experience includes coaching at Montverde Academy head coach Kevin Boyle's camp and the Montville Basketball Camp.
