Chris Spaulding

Chris Spaulding has helped elevate the Montverde Academy boys lacrosse program through a commitment to excellence, player development, and academic achievement. In 2022, he guided the Eagles to the FHSAA Regional Championship Game, the deepest postseason run in program history. Under his leadership, Montverde Academy has qualified for the FHSAA Regional Tournament in four of five seasons while producing numerous Florida State Lacrosse Coaches Association All-State selections, USA Lacrosse All-Americans, and USA Lacrosse Academic All-Americans.

An accomplished educator, Spaulding has positively impacted students both in and out of the classroom. He is a recipient of New York State's Golden Apple Outstanding Teaching Award and achieved a remarkable 90 percent pass rate on the AP U.S. History Exam for five consecutive years.

Spaulding's coaching success spans more than two decades and includes one of the most distinguished résumés in Florida high school lacrosse. Prior to joining Montverde Academy, he served as a history teacher and head varsity lacrosse coach at Lake Highland Preparatory School in Orlando. During his tenure, he led the program to four state championships while earning USA Lacrosse Coach of the Year and Florida Dairy Farmers Coach of the Year honors four times each.

Known for developing the complete student-athlete, Spaulding has built a culture that emphasizes leadership, accountability, and academic success. His players have earned recognition at the state and national levels while continuing their careers at collegiate programs across the country, reflecting the lasting impact of his coaching philosophy.
