Biography
Jody Brown, a Jamaican native, fell in love with the game of soccer at an early age after joining a small fútbol club in Jamaica, the St. Ann Football Association (SAFA). Although the team consisted of all boys, Brown led the soccer club in scoring every season. Brown also attended the St. Ann Lime Hall Primary and Infant School where she was recruited by the coach of SAFA. According to Brown, both the SAFA and Lime Hall School were instrumental in developing her into the athlete she is today.
Brown attended Montverde Academy as a sophomore for 2017-2018 school year and has received numerous accolades over the years such as being named the best young player in the CONCACAF at the age of 16, joining the CONCACAF XI Female Team with the likes of Alex Morgan (Member of Team USA and Player of the Year), and qualifying to the 2019 FIFA World Cup with Team Jamaica.
In the 2017-2019 soccer seasons at Montverde Academy, Brown lead the Lady Eagles in goals scored and propelled the Eagles to win two consecutive 4A FHSAA State Championships.
Brown is set to compete for the Jamaican National Team at the 2019 FIFA World Cup on June 9-18. Their first match will be against the Brazilian National Team.
