Austin Kelley

Austin Kelley has been with Montverde Academy since the summer of 2025 serves as the Director of the Center for Basketball Development (CBD) and Assistant Coach of the boys national basketball team at Montverde Academy. 

As the director of the CBD, he oversees all aspects of its training program, including managing daily operations, supporting a coaching staff that works with more than 100 student-athletes, and ensures the program continues to meet the highest standards of player development and performance.

Kelley has a diverse background in basketball operations, coaching, and event management. Prior to joining Montverde Academy, he served on the men’s basketball staff at Niagara University. He began as Director of Operations and was later promoted to Assistant Coach, where he handled logistics, academic support, fundraising, and overall program coordination.

Before his time at Niagara, Kelley was the Director of Operations and Recruiting Coordinator at George Washington University. In that role, he managed team travel, scheduling, budgeting, and alumni engagement. He also worked as an Elite Director for the Hoop Group, one of the nation’s leading grassroots basketball organizations. There, he directed more than 25 annual camps and events, impacting over 3,500 athletes each year.

Kelley’s experience also includes work at the high school and AAU levels. From 2012 to 2016, he served as an assistant coach at Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C., and was involved with top AAU programs including the DC Blue Devils and The District Basketball Club.

Originally from Western New York, Kelley holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from St. Bonaventure University and a Master of Science in Health Education from SUNY Cortland.

In his role at Montverde Academy, Kelley applies his extensive experience to help student-athletes reach their full potential and to further strengthen the CBD’s reputation as one of the nation’s premier basketball development programs as well as the prominence of boys national basketball team.
