Taneka Rubin

Taneka Rubin is the Student Athlete Development Coordinator and Assistant Girls Basketball Coach at Montverde Academy and has been here since 2022. Rubin's responsibilities include the facilitation of student-athlete development by coordinating workshops, seminars and speakers for the student-athletes, along with supporting student-athletes through Name, Image & Likeness (NIL) protocols, procedures and education.

She graduated from Florida A&M University with a bachelor's degree in business administration. She then graduated from the University of East London with a master's degree in International Business.

Her college and professional basketball career truly shows her love for the game. She was a shooting guard for Glendale College from 2011-2013 where she earned her associates degree before transferring to Florida A&M where she played from 2013-15.

As a professional basketball player she competed for leagues in four different countries between 2016 and 2022, including England (2016-17), Portugal (2018-19), Spain (2019-21) and Romania (2021-22).

Rubin credits professional basketball coach Eric Rasgad and player developer Dr. Janice Hilliard for her success. In addition to that, she works to support others in the way she was supported through service organizations such as Girls Basketball Worldwide, which works with youth development and the underserved youth.

Born in Sierra Vista, Arizona, Rubin resides in Clermont, Florida. In her free time, she enjoys writing, staying active and comedy.
