Montverde Academy Athletics

Victor Rivera enter his 9th year in Montverde Academy, currently as Physical Education Instructor in the Lower and Middle School Divisions. Coach Rivera is originally from Salinas, Puerto Rico where he graduated from Inter American University with a degree in Physical Education. Victor is also a graduate from Sport Management World Wide as a Baseball General Manager and Scouting, serve in the community as a Player Development and is the Founder of VR Baseball, an organization that is dedicated to the betterment of children through athletic clinics and baseball camps.

As a student athlete, Coach Rivera pitched at Texarkana College, played in the 2001 Junior College World Series in Grand Junction Colorado, Southern Arkansas University and also played semi-professional baseball in Puerto Rico. Victor began his coaching career at Jarvis Christian College in Texas and went on to be named the Head Coach at Next Level America Academy in Puerto Rico prior to joining the Montverde Academy community in 2009.  At Montverde, Coach Rivera has helped more than 30 players to play in College with scholarships. Also coach a very successful group of players including Francisco Lindor First Round in the MLB Draft 2011, MLB player and All-Star with the Cleveland Indians, Alexis Rivera, Angel Alicea and Gabriel Garcia MLB draft picks.

Rivera is married to Yanitza Irrizary, a native of Villalba, Puerto Rico. The couple has one son, Jan Lester Rivera.
