Guilherme Ferreira

Guilherme Ferreira is the Director of Aquatics and Head Coach of the boys and girls swim teams, where he has led the swim program since 2018. Originally from Colombo, Brazil, Ferreira brings a wealth of international experience and academic excellence to his role.

Under Ferreira's watch, the boys and girls swim teams have won numerous FHSAA district and regional championships. He has led the boys program to the district championships for the past six years, and the regional championship in 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2024. Meanwhile, the girls program has won the districts and regional championships in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.

He earned his Bachelor of Physical Education degree from Universidade Federal do Paraná in 2006 and went on to receive his Master of Pedagogical Sciences degree from the Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, and Tourism, graduating with distinction on both his state exam and thesis defense.

Coach Ferreira is an active member of the American Swimming Coaches Association and USA Swimming. Throughout his career, he has been mentored by respected professionals including Coach Gianluca Alberani, Omar Gonzalez, Alex Pussieldi, Dr. Sokolovas, and Dr. Oleg Popov.

He is married to Carolina Colorado Ferreira, an Olympic swimmer from Medellín, Colombia, who competed in the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games, and is a South American record holder and World Cup medalist. Together they have four children: Antonio, Luisa, Jose, and Paulo.

Beyond coaching, Ferreira is passionate about giving back to the community. He supports Fundação Nadar, an institution in Brazil that helps low-income families provide their children with opportunities in swimming. He is also an active at Blessed Sacrament Church in Clermont. Besides swimming, in his free time, he enjoys playing guitar, reading, hiking, and paddling.
