After a perfect 5-0 win over Eastside High School (Gainesville) the Montverde Academy varsity boys tennis team advances to the FHSAA State Finals. 

The Eagles are now 10-0 on the year.

The results for Montverde are as follows:

Doubles Line 1: Patrick Sydow/Kyle Frankel (MVA) defeated Ben Brandt/Howard Williams 6-4, 6-2

Doubles Line 2: Antonio Balau/Bernardo Costa (MVA) defeated Zach Brandt/Sam Van Roy 6-1, 6-2

Singles Line 1: Patrick Sydow (MVA) defeated Ben Brandt 6-1, 6-0

Singles Line 2: Kyle Frankel (MVA) vs Howard Williams 6-1, 1-0 suspended

Singles Line 3: Bernardo Costa (MVA) defeated Zach Brandt 6-0, 6-0

The state finals will be played at Red Bug Lake Park and Sylvan Lake Park starting Wednesday, April 26th. 

The schedule is: 

• April 26 – 8:00 a.m.: Girls team quarterfinals begin with doubles to be played first at Red Bug,
                                     Boys & Girls individual competition begins at Sylvan Lake
                   11:30 a.m.: Boys team quarterfinals begin with doubles to be played first at Red Bug
• April 27 – 8:00 a.m.: Girls team semifinals begin with doubles to be played first at Red Bug,
                                     Boys and Girls individual competition begins at Sylvan Lake
                   9:30 a.m.: Boys team semifinals begin with doubles to be played first at Red Bug
                   1:00 p.m.: Girls team championship match begins at Red Bug
                   2:30 p.m.: Boys team championship match begins at Red Bug
