Ramani Parker Shines at Who's Next All American Game

Senior and University of Louisville commit Ramani Parker scored 11 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and added four blocks to pace the American team to a 64-56 victory over the National team in the 2019 Who's Next All-American basketball game on Wednesday, April 6 in Tampa, Fla.

Starting the game, the American team was outmatched by the National team as they went on a 10-0 run to finish the first quarter of play with a score of 20-8. The second quarter proved to be no different as the National team kept getting easy transition points after several missed baskets by the American team. By halftime, the National team led the game with a score of 41-25.

Montverde Academy Girls Basketball Head Coach E.C. Hill, who was selected to coach the American team, gave the girls a pep talk after the half which would fuel one of the largest comebacks in Who's Next All-American basketball game history.

"We all just needed to calm down and play our game," said E.C. Hill. "Once we got going, there was no stopping us. Every girl stepped up and I couldn't have been more proud of the way Parker played on both ends of the floor."

In the third quarter, the American team exploded on a 17-5 run over the National team which was ignited by Parker's defensive presence and several blocks in the paint. Offensively, Parker was nearly perfect from the free throw line shooting 5 of 6 and snatched four offensive rebounds. The momentum kept building for the American team and never wavered. Once they took their first lead of the game in the middle of the fourth quarter, the National team never recovered.
