Montverde, Fla.— Montverde Academy girls' basketball player Janiah Barker was recently honored with two awards as she was named a Baden 1st team All-American and was named a MaxPreps Honorable Mention for the 2021-22 high school basketball season.
Barker had an amazing season with the Eagles, helping them to their first ever GEICO High School Nationals tournament appearance and victory. In 21 games this season she averaged 15.2 points and 9.3 rebounds. In addition to these awards, Barker was also selected as a McDonalds All-American and was named to the Jordan Brand Classic high school All-Star game in Chicago.
Barker is still undecided and remains the most highly sought-after unsigned senior.
