The Montverde Academy softball team lost to Windermere High School, 4-3, in Windermere on Thursday afternoon.
With the loss, the Eagles are now 14-5.
MVA scored a run in the first and two in the second to lead 3-0 early. But the Wolverines scored once in the bottom of the fourth to pull to within two, before scoring three in the bottom of the fifth to jump ahead 4-3 and hold on from there.
Despite the loss, the Eagles outhit Windermere 10-8. Colby Reish and Paris Ford led the way, both going 2-for-4 with a run batted in each. Nevaeh Williams went 2-for-3 in the game, while Yani Guzman, Jenna Meder and Danika Spinogatti each scored once.
Williams suffered the loss after going 5.1 innings and allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits, while striking out seven.
