Behind a team-high 14 kills by Thalita Marangon, the Montverde Academy girls' volleyball team defeated host The First Academy 3-0 (25-19, 25-13, 25-20) on Tuesday evening.

Marangon had a .381 attack percentage to go along with two block assists, five digs plus a service ace.

Meanwhile, Bailey Hollis had a great game with 10 kills, 10 assists, four block assists and a service ace.

Isabella Johnson added five kills and three digs, while Luiza Manata had 28 digs and six assists.

Montverde Academy is now 7-4 overall this season.

The Eagles return to action on Thursday with a match against West Orange High School on Thursday at 6:00 pm

JV Results: Earlier in the evening, the junior varsity gold team defeated the host The First Academy 2-0 (25-13, 25-15) to improve to 5-2 overall this season. Also, junior varsity purple defeated All Saints Academy 2-0 (25-18, 25-23) in Winter Haven to improve to 4-3 on the season.
