Montverde Academy girls' volleyball scored 19 straight points in the first set to dictate the tempo en route to a 3-0 (25-5, 25-19, 25-15) win over West Orange High School in the Nest on Thursday evening.

With the Eagles leading 7-5 in the first set, Bailey Hollis served 18 straight points for the easy first set win, before comfortably winning the second and third set as well.

Hollis ended the evening with seven kills, 15 assists, five service aces and two blocks. Ana Julia Peixoto had a team-high 10 kills and a .600 attack percentage, while Thalita Marangon had nine kills.

Luiza Manata had a team-high 11 digs, while Evangeline DeClercq had three total blocks.

After a weekend off, the Eagles are back in action on Tuesday for a match at Mount Dora High School at 6:00 pm

JV Results: Earlier in the evening, the junior varsity gold team defeated West Orange 2-0 (25-15, 25-12). The junior varsity purple team earned a 2-0 (25-22, 25-19) win over host Auburndale High School.
