On senior night, the Montverde Academy girls' volleyball team left it all out on the court.
The Eagles recorded season-highs 53 kills and 59 digs in a close loss to Orangewood Christian 3-1 at the Nest on Tuesday evening, scores were 26-28, 24-26, 25-21, 23-25. Each match was tight, including the second set which saw MVA fall behind 10-0, before rallying back and eventually taking an 18-17 lead before the end.
Three Eagles notched double figures in kills, including Paola De Chavarria Munoz and Bailey Hollis who had 15 each and Isabella Johnson who had 12. Hollis added three service aces, three blocks and a match-high 18 digs and 20 assists. Munoz had eight digs and a match co-high 25 assists.
Suhmer Henriques added three service aces in the match. Rosabella Palanti had 10 digs, while Jadyn Langley added eight.
Montverde Academy will close out its 2023 regular season with a match at Winter Park High School on Thursday at 6:30 pm.
