The Montverde Academy girls' volleyball team defeated South Lake High School 3-1 (25-23, 20-25, 25-22, 26-24) in the 2023 season opener at the Nest on Tuesday evening.

Paola De Chavarria Munoz led the Eagles with 12 kills and had a .414 kill percentage (12 kills on 29 attempts), while Bailey Hollis added 11 kills and had a team leading hit percentage of .391 (11 kills, two errors, 23 attempts). Munoz also had a team-leading five service aces, while Hollis had four.

Evy DeClercq added three blocks, and Catherine Emilcar added two blocks in the win.

The Eagles next match is Thursday August 24 at Windermere Prep at 6:30 pm.
