After winning the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Class 3A District 6 championship, the Montverde Academy girls volleyball team has earned the No. 2 seed for the FHSAA Region 2 championship coming up this week.
The No. 2 seeded Eagles will host the No. 7 seed Space Coast High School in a quarterfinal round match this Tuesday October 22 at 7:00 pm.
If the Eagles win, they will play at The Nest again on Saturday, October 26 at 7:00 pm against the winner between No. 3 seed McKeel Academy and No. 6 seed Interlachen.
Should MVA win that game, the Eagles will play in the regional championship either at No. 1 seed Lake Highland Prep, or at home against No. 4 seed The Villages, No. 5 seed Cocoa Beach, or No. 8 seed Windermere Prep on Tuesday, October 29 at 7:00 pm.
Last week, MVA defeated The Villages to win the district championship last Thursday. It was its first district championship since 2021.
Montverde Academy is 12-8 overall this season, and the Eagles have had a balanced attack, led by their two seniors Evy DeClercq and Vero Ruiz.
