Kayden Allen led with 22 points and Trent Sisley had 16 points leading the Eagles to a 107-82 win over Specially Fit Academy (SFA) Thursday night at the Nest in Montverde Academy boys' basketball's final preseason game before the start of the 2024-25 regular season.
The Eagles started strong by winning the tip-off Even though SFA did get the first point of the game, MVA overtook the lead quickly with Allen's layup and 3-pointer.
MVA used this momentum to keep the pressure on with defense and offense, putting the score at 25-17 by the end of the first quarter.
In the beginning of the second quarter, SFA started with the ball but was recovered by Hudson Greer which he capitalized on with a three pointer. MVA just kept racking up points ending the second period leading 52-41.
SFA didn't give up easily, and they caused many fouls from MVA causing them to keep the score close.
Undeterred by the fouls, MVA kept the pressure on while adding 20 points to lead 72-59 by the end of the third quarter.
Coming out of the fire in the last period, both sides drove up the score, but to SFA's disappointment MVA came out of the top, giving MVA an perfect 2-0 record during the preseason.
MVA's season opener is Tuesday, November 19 for a home contest against Florida Coastal Prep at 7:30 pm.
"I'm just looking forward to traveling with guys and trying to win another national championship," said Indiana commit Trent Sisley when asked about the upcoming season.
