With the entire student body along with many faculty and staff looking and cheering them on, nineteen Montverde Academy student-athletes picked up their pen and took that next step into their future.
National Signing Day took place at the Nest during assembly where these19 highly skilled senior student-athletes officially committed to college by making the announcement of where they will be headed to continue their student-athlete playing careers.
Before each student signed, a prerecorded video played on the Nest's television monitor with the student verbally announcing his or her University he or she will be attending.
Upon the video, the student-athlete walked across the gym floor with friends and family before taking his and her seat at the table to sign in front of their classmates watching in the bleachers.
"I'm looking forward to just getting to know the girls, living out on my own, and competing well," said softball player Ashley Berkemeier, who officially committed to Seminole State.
This event is one of the most celebrated and favorite events of all students, faculty, and staff at Montverde because it brings a positive vibe across campus for the whole week.
Montverde Academy's core values are Knowledge, Character, and Community and each one of these student-athletes exemplify these values and we are celebrated appropriately by all of their classmates on Signing Day.
This is Montverde Academy's first of three signing days this academic year. The next singing day will be on Wednesday, February 19th.
