The Montverde Academy boys basketball team defeated Wasatch Academy 77-47 in day one of the Nike EYBL Scholastic Five for the Fight in Mount Plesant, Utah on Monday evening.
The Eagles are now 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in conference play.
Kayden Allen led the Eagles with 20 points on 8-for-12 shooting, with four rebounds and four assists. Meanwhile, Dhani Miller and Trent Sisley notched double-figures in scoring as Miller netted 11 and Sisley 10 and six rebounds.
MVA dominated multiple facets of the game en route to the 30-point win. The Eagles held a 34-21 advantage in rebounding, 22-10 on points off turnovers, 32-24 on points in the paint and 24-16 on points off the bench.
The Eagles connected on fifty-eight percent from the floor, going 29-for-50. MVA connected on fifty-two percent from behind the three point line, going 11-for-21 as a team.
MVA is back in action on Tuesday for day two of the Five for the Fight in a non league game against Springville at 5:45 pm Eastern Time.
