Montverde Academy defeated Oak Ridge 83-74 in the semifinal of the 2024 City of Palms Classic on Saturday evening in Fort Myers, Florida. The Eagles overcame a 41-39 halftime deficit with a dominant third-quarter performance to secure the win.
Montverde Academy outscored Oak Ridge 23-10 in the decisive third quarter to take control of the game.
CJ Ingram led the way for the Eagles, contributing 22 points and eight rebounds, while Trent Sisley recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Dante Allen added 20 points and four assists to fuel the Eagles' offense, and Hudson Greer notched double figures in scoring with 10 points.
Montverde Academy dominated inside, outscoring Oak Ridge 46-28 in points in the paint. The team shot an impressive 67 percent from the field (32-for-48), including 90 percent in the fourth quarter (9-for-10), to secure the victory.
The Eagles are now 8-1 on the season and will be looking for their seventh City of Palms Classic championship in tournament history on Monday evening at 8:30 pm against the winner of the other semifinal round game (going on at the time of this article) between IMG Academy and Christopher Columbus High School.
