After a fantastic senior year on the track, Montverde Academy girls track & field superstar Alivia Williams was named the MileSplit Florida girls track & field Athlete of the Year for the 2024 track & field season.
Williams had an outstanding season all year long, capped by her win in the 400 meters at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania last weekend. Collectively, the four combined to win the event in 3:31.68, which broke the record for fastest 4x400 in United States girls track & field history.
In addition to her wins in the national outdoor meet, Williams had an abundance of wins throughout the outdoor high school season. She won six ouf of eight times in the 400 meter dash, including all three during the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) state series (districts, regionals and states). She also won four out of six times at the 200 meter distance, including a sweep of the FHSAA state series races.
