The Montverde Academy girls basketball team avenged its only loss this season in a 73-55 win over Fort Erie International in a rematch of a game played in the Bahamas in December.

Saniyah Hall led the Eagles with 22 points, six assists and five steals, while Lourdes Da Silva Costa had 19 points and five rebounds.

The Eagles held strong early in the game and had a 36-27 lead at halftime.

Montverde Academy maintained its dominance in the second half with the Eagles controlling both defense and offense.

Aaliyah Crump also scored in double figures adding 11.

"The team is getting a lot better and playing better together," Hall said.

The Eagles are now 19-1 and play again on Friday against  Long Island Lutheran at the Nest at 6 pm.
