Montverde Academy girls volleyball claimed its second consecutive Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) District Championship on Thursday night, defeating The Villages Charter 3–0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-20) in a dominant performance on the road.
The Eagles set the tone early and never looked back, controlling all three sets to secure back-to-back district titles over the Buffalo.
Leading the attack for MVA was Natalia Baquerizo, who posted a match-high 13 kills and added 2 aces. Suhmer Henriques added seven kills, Bianca Baquerizo recorded six kills, while Gabi Carvalho and Eva Bardales chipped in with five kills apiece to round out a balanced offensive effort.
With the win, Montverde Academy automatically qualifies for the FHSAA Regional Championship. The official bracket will be released Friday, with the Eagles expected to earn either the No. 1 or No. 2 seed. The regional quarterfinal is scheduled for Tuesday, October 21 at 7:00 p.m.
MVA is now 17–5 overall this season.
