Cassy Zhu captured the individual championship after shooting a tournament-best 67 (-5) as the Eagles finished third out of 12 teams at the Florida High School Athletic Association regional tournament at Seven Springs Golf & Country Club in Trinity, Florida on Tuesday.

Montverde Academy recorded a team score of 293, finishing just six strokes behind regional champion Circle Christian.

Behind Zhi was Cynthia Yang who carded a 71 (-1), followed by Kanchana Duangsam with a 77 (+5) and Bonnie Wu with a 78 (+6).

With their strong showing, the Eagles now await word on whether they will receive an at-large bid to the FHSAA State Championship, which will take place November 14–15 at Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
