The Montverde Academy boys basketball team saw its five-game winning streak snapped on Sunday afternoon, falling 69-59 to Dynamic Prep on day two of the Jordan Holiday Classic in New York City.

Montverde Academy held a one-point advantage heading into the fourth quarter but was outscored 20-9 over the final eight minutes as Dynamic Prep pulled away late. The loss drops the Eagles to 5-4 on the season.

The Eagles came out strong early, taking a 20-16 lead after the first quarter and carrying a 35-30 advantage into halftime. Montverde Academy continued to battle in the third quarter and maintained a slim 50-49 lead heading into the final period before Dynamic Prep surged down the stretch.

Oneal Delancy led Montverde Academy with a team-high 19 points and six rebounds. Joe Philon III added 12 points, four rebounds, and four assists, while Javion Tyndale finished with 11 points.

Montverde Academy returns to action on Wednesday, January 7, hosting IMG Academy at 7:30 p.m.
