The Montverde Academy lacrosse team snapped a four-game losing streak after a thrilling 8-7 victory over The First Academy on campus Tuesday evening.
Senior Camden Fisher led the charge with a team-high five points, scoring twice and dishing out three assists. Junior Blake Kuhn also played a key role, tallying two assists to go along with his solid all-around performance. Sophomore Evan Flanagan, seventh-grader Nate Kuhn, and freshman Gavin Ionelli each found the back of the net twice, rounding out MVA's eight-goal performance.
On the defensive side, the Eagles controlled the ground game, collecting 31 ground balls. Senior Corbin Peirce led the effort with a game-high eight ground balls, while seniors Alex Juhnke and Evan Flanagan each added five.
Alex Juhnke was perfect on faceoffs, winning all three of his attempts, while junior Brayden Long battled through 12 draws, winning five, including four in the pivitoal fourth quarter.
Senior goalie Sam Juhnke anchored Eagles in net, recording 10 saves on 17 shots faced for a .588 save percentage.
