The Montverde Academy softball team earned a 12-3 win over Viera High School in the opening round of the 2025 Kissimmee Klassic on Thursday evening.
Luna Taboas went 4-for-5 with two runs and two runs batted in, while Audrey Vivino went 3-for-3 and scored twice. Meanwhile Leila Susaia, La'Breah Sands and Danika Spinogatti added two hits each.
Nevaeh Williams earned the win, pitching 5.0 innings and allowing two runs on three hits while striking out 11. Emerson Gunkel finished off the final inning and allowed one run on three hits and struck out two.
MVA is back in action on Friday at 6:00 pm for a winner's bracket game against Somerset Academy.
