The Montverde Academy boys' lacrosse team is set to compete in the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) district championships this upcoming week.
After finishing the 2025 regular season with an 8-8 record, the Eagles have earned the No. 4 seed and will host Trinity Prep in a quarterfinal round on Thursday at 6:00 pm.Â
Should the Eagles get past Trinity Prep, they play at top seeded Bishop Moore in a semifinal round game on Monday, April 14 at 6:00 pm. If MVA wins in the semifinal round, the Eagles will play for the championship against one of four teams including, No. 2 seed Lake Highland Prep, No. 3 seed The First Academy, No. 6 seed Foundation Academy or No. 7 seed Innovation High School.
During this past regular season, the Eagles were led in goals by Blake Kuhn with 25 goals, followed by Gavin Ionelli with 21 goals. Kuhn also led the team in assists with 21, followed by Camden Fisher with 10. Goalkeeper Sam Juhnke had a remarkable season stopping 162 of 262 shots for a 61.8 save percentage.Â
